What it does
Real-time rundown
Every change lands on every screen instantly, with live cursors, role-based views and individual crew logins. The sound engineer sees audio columns, the camera operator sees video cues.
Cues, tasks and acknowledgments
Nine cue categories, between-cue tasks per discipline with required/optional status, and visibility on who actually confirmed a cue.
Nudges
Discrete attention signals to one role or the whole team — no shouting over the intercom.
Timing & countdowns
Live countdown clocks per cue, a planned start/end schedule and automatic warnings the moment the show runs over.
Presenter Panel
Pair presentation laptops with a 4-digit code: browse slides and start videos straight from the rundown — the operator takes over the clicker.
Audio & cast management
Microphone inventory with automatic conflict detection, audio patches per scene and a cast portal with print-ready day schedules.

How we built it
ShowCaller runs on Firebase: Auth, Storage and Firestore as the real-time database — every cue change reaches all connected devices within milliseconds through live listeners, from show desk to backstage tablet.
The front end is a React/TypeScript app installable as a PWA on tablet or phone; the site is statically prerendered (540 routes) in twelve languages, including structured data and its own docs and blog platform.
Nightly deploys via GitHub Actions keep the platform fresh, and a built-in Content Engine writes SEO articles on autopilot — a module we later ported into our CRM.
Why we built it
We come from the show desk ourselves. Complex shows ran on outdated Excel sheets, missed cues and miscommunication — exactly the mistakes that must not happen on show day.
ShowCaller is the answer: one source of truth for the whole team, with provable confirmation instead of hope. Today it is a commercial SaaS product with subscriptions, day passes and customers across the live industry.
